As a Licensed Contractor and Real Estate Agent, I feel it is my responsibility to understand what goes in and what comes out of every home I sell or build.  For this reason I have obtained certifications in Real Estate, Construction, and Green Building.  In Real Estate it is said that the three most important things are “location, location, location,” and there are many outdated and decrepit homes in great locations.  I see these homes as perfect opportunities for many of my clients in this current market, as right now it is a great time to buy.  The biggest challenge for most people is seeing past the old, wasteful, poorly designed home, and envisioning how that can be transformed into something exciting.  Understanding how simple updates can positively impact the sale of a home is crucial in this market, and gives you a huge advantage when buying an outdated or distressed home.  My goal is to provide the best tools and insight for my clients to make the right investment at the right time.  I aim to provide excellent service and the most current information, helping my clients to use the market to their advantage.  Real Estate is always a wise investment, the trick is buying at the right time, and knowing when to sell.  I am not just an Realtor with the knowledge of how to buy and sell homes, I am also a Builder to advise  my clients on what the homes condition is, and what future potential can be.

What's Green about a Hammer?

Green Building involves every part of construction, and not just the home, but the impact to everything around it.  There are so many different ways to build green, and even more green products to choose from.  But building green can also mean taking at least one thing that is most important to you, or at least one thing that you can incorporate into your next renovation or new home.  Whether it be the health of you family by using low VOC paints, varnishes, and other chemicals to improve indoor air quality, or using better windows and insulation.  For many it may be to control storm water run-off, recycling gray water, or simply just switching to energy efficient light bulbs. No matter what you choose, I would imagine that most of us are motivated to use less energy to save money and the environment we live in.  I certainly use both of these motivations to build better and nicer looking homes using safe and sustainable products.

Many simple green applications can be done to improve your health, energy consumption, and comfort, and in doing so you just may feel better, save money, and improve the look and comfort of your home in the process.

Green Building practice is not a new trend, it is a movement we all desperately need to be aware of before starting the next home project.  We need to begin learning more about reducing our carbon footprint like so many other countries have done, and set the new standards in Green Building Construction right here, with an open mind and a Green Hammer.
